WHMIS Employee Responsibilities

Responsibility of the employee  
     
Workers are required to participate in WHMIS training programs plus site specific training. The purpose of the training is to help employees work safely with hazardous materials. They may also inform employers when labels on containers have been accidentally removed or if the label is no longer readable.

Employees Must:
Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations
Use or wear equipment and/or PPE required by employer
Report any contravention of OH&S Act and Regulations
Report absence or defect in any equipment or protective device
Not engage in any horseplay, or rough and boisterous conduct
