WHMIS Controlled Products

What is a controlled product under WHMIS legislation?

A controlled product is a product, material, and/or substance that is regulated by WHMIS legislation. All controlled products fall into one or more of six WHMIS classes.

Compressed Gases – Class A
Flammable and Combustible materials – Class B
Oxidizing Materials – Class C
Poisonous and Infectious Materials – Class D
Corrosive Materials – Class E
Dangerously reactive materials – Class F
